Some dreams stay with us for a lifetime.
For many years, Angela and her mum, Kathy, shared a dream of one day living in the countryside surrounded by nature, animals, and peaceful open spaces. At the very top of their wish list were alpacas – gentle, curious creatures that always seemed to bring a smile wherever they went.
When Lower Winsford Farm became our home in May 2026, that dream finally began to take shape. Remarkably, on the very day we moved in, four beautiful alpacas appeared on Angela’s social media feed looking for a new home. It felt as though it was meant to be. Before long, they had arrived at Lower Winsford Farm and become part of the family.
In loving memory of Angela’s mum, Kathy, the paddock they call home has been named Kathy’s Corner. It is a special place that celebrates a dream shared between mother and daughter and serves as a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful dreams really do come true.
Today, Kathy’s Corner is home to our much-loved alpacas, who spend their days grazing peacefully, greeting visitors, and bringing plenty of character and laughter to the farm.

Pearl
Pearl is very much the boss of the group and she knows it. Confident, cheeky, and always first in line for treats, Pearl likes to keep everyone in order. If another alpaca receives a treat before she does, you’ll soon know about it! Despite her bossy streak, she is full of character and impossible not to love.

Mable
Mable is the curious one. She often reminds us of a puppy, happily wandering over to investigate what you’re doing and hoping for a tasty snack. Gentle and affectionate, Mable enjoys attention and will often settle down nearby to enjoy a quiet fuss. She is also Pearl’s loyal shadow and rarely strays far from her side.

Barbara
Barbara is the elegant lady of the herd. Usually found calmly grazing with a thoughtful expression and often a piece of grass dangling from her mouth, Barbara approaches life at her own pace. If alpacas wore pearls and spectacles, Barbara certainly would. She is calm, dignified, and wonderfully charming.

Kizzy
Kizzy is our quirky character. With her wild hair and permanently surprised expression, she always looks as though she’s just heard some shocking news. Full of personality and a little bit mischievous, Kizzy keeps everyone entertained and never fails to make us smile.

Meeting the Girls
Although our alpacas love food—especially Mable, who is convinced she’s never been fed—they are on a carefully managed diet to keep them healthy and happy. For this reason, we kindly ask that guests do not feed them.
Please do not enter the alpaca paddock, as this is their safe space. However, you’re very welcome to stand by the gate and say hello. If they’re feeling sociable, they may even come over for a stroke and a closer look.
One word of warning though—alpacas are famous for occasionally spitting! Thankfully it’s usually reserved for each other when they’re squabbling over food, but it’s all part of their charm.
If you would like to get a little closer and meet the girls properly, please just ask. If we’re available, we’d be delighted to take you into the paddock, introduce you to Pearl, Mable, Barbara and Kizzy, and help you feed them some suitable treats.
If the girls are in the mood, you may even get the chance to help give them a little groom and make some new fluffy friends during your stay.
