One of the many benefits of being based at Lower Winsford Farm is that we are within easy reach of some of the South West’s most beautiful beaches. Recently, we took the opportunity to visit Summerleaze Beach in Bude with our farm dogs, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Summerleaze Beach is a fantastic destination for families, dog owners, and anyone looking to enjoy a traditional seaside day out. The wide sandy beach offers plenty of space to relax, explore, and enjoy the fresh sea air, while the stunning views across the coastline make it a wonderful place to spend a few hours.
Our farm dogs were in their element. There was plenty of space for them to stretch their legs, investigate new scents, and enjoy the excitement of a beach adventure. Watching them race across the sand with tails wagging was enough to bring a smile to everyone’s face.
The beach was buzzing with activity during our visit, with surfers making the most of the waves and families enjoying the beautiful weather. It had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that makes Bude such a popular destination with visitors throughout the year.
After our walk, we stopped for breakfast at the fabulous beachside café, Life’s a Beach. Situated right on the seafront, the café offers stunning views across the beach, making it the perfect spot to sit back and soak up the scenery.
The food was exceptional. Angela and Maisie, both vegetarians, opted for the vegan and vegetarian breakfast options, while Michael chose the full English breakfast. The portions were incredibly generous, and every dish was packed with flavour. In fact, all of us struggled to finish our meals because there was simply so much food on the plate! It was one of those breakfasts that keeps you going for the rest of the day.
With fantastic food, friendly service, and breathtaking views across Summerleaze Beach, Life’s a Beach is somewhere we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Summerleaze Beach is just one of the many wonderful places to explore during a stay at Lower Winsford Farm. Whether you’re bringing your four-legged friends, looking for family-friendly days out, or simply wanting to enjoy the beautiful North Cornwall coastline, Bude is well worth a visit.
We have a feeling our farm dogs will be asking to return very soon!
